Single CAT5e/6 HDBaseT Extndr(230′),Bi-direct IR,RS23,POC
Description
Binary™ HDBaseT Extender (230 ft.), Bi-directional IR, RS 232, and POC
Now when you extend audio and video signals over long distances you won’t sacrifice resolution quality – and you’ll gain control system capabilities – with the HDBaseT™ technology of the Binary™ Single CAT 5e/6 HDMI Extender. This product goes the distance, transmitting up to 4K video and 7.1 channels of lossless audio – up to 230 ft. over a single Cat 5e/6 cable. It saves valuable install time, thanks to Bi-directional Power over Cable (POC), which eliminates the need to fit a bulky power supply behind the TV, and “plug and play” technology that bypasses frustrating EQ and EDID settings. And for the icing on the cake, you get robust control system integration that includes bi-directional IR and RS-232. Now that’s a product that packs a lot of punch!
Important Notices:
HDBaseT No Video
HDBaseT requires that connected equipment support what is known as Clock Stretching. While this feature was a requirement starting with HDMI 1.3, not all HDMI 1.3 products support it, and it was not a requirement for HDMI 1.2, which is still used in many set top boxes and AVRs. No video may appear if the devices connected to HDBaseT extenders do not support Clock Stretching.
Fortunately there is a simple work around that will allow the HDBaseT to work with these products. The solution is to insert a B-220-HDSPLTR-1X2, B-220-HDSPLTR-1X4, or B-220-HDSPLTR-1X8 between the device and the HDBaseT extender. Click Here for Details
Power Supply Voltage
Binary HDBaseT HDMI extenders use a 24 Volt DC power supply. All other Binary HDMI extenders use a 5 Volt DC power supply, and matrix switchers with integrated Cat 5 extenders use 12 Volt DC supplies. Using the 24 Volt DC power supply with any 5 or 12 Volt Binary product will result in damage to the product and possibly the power supply. Be sure to use the correct power supply with the correct product!
Shielded Cable Recommendation
Although HDBaseT transmission technology is much less susceptible to EMI interference than other transmission technologies, if possible, it is recommended that you pull shielded Cat5e/Cat6 with this product for maximum reliability. Please note: for proper shielding, shielded connectors must be used with drains connected at both ends. In addition, “EZ end” connectors are not recommended for use with HDMI extenders.
Benefits of HDBaseT Technology
HDBaseT technology provides a robust solution for high-definition multimedia content distribution. This Binary™ Single CAT 5e/6 HDMI Extender supports an HDBaseT feature set that transmits full uncompressed HD video, audio, POC (power over cable), and control signals (bi-directional IR and RS-232), all through a single CAT5e/6 LAN cable up to 230 ft. It allows for greater RF immunity, so you get a better and more reliable signal, plus it’s easier to install because you don’t have to fiddle with any EQ or EDID settings. Just plug and play and you’re on your way to faster and easier media distribution.
4K with Full 3D Support
This extender offers full support of 4K (including HDMI® with 3D), Deep Color (36bit) and HDCP 2.0, as well as support for Dolby® True HD, Dolby® Digital Plus, DTS™-HD Master and LPCM audio formats.
Work Smarter, Not Harder
Forget about wasting precious install time running back and forth, fiddling with transmitter and receiver settings, and struggling to get a good picture. With this extender kit there are no EQ or EDID settings required – all you do is plug and play. Now that’s smart!
Bi-Directional Power over Cable (POC)
No room for a bulky power supply behind the TV or in the rack? Not a problem. With Bi-Directional Power over Cable (POC), you can send power over the same Cat5e/6 cable that extends your video, audio, and control signals. This means you only need one power supply – and you can put it at the head end or display to get it completely out of the way. Plus the extender features screw-down power plugs, so you never have to worry about getting service calls because a plug fell out when the TV was moved. Now those are some real reasons to celebrate!
Complete Control with Bi-directional IR and RS-232
Thanks to bi-directional IR and RS-232, you get no-hassle integration with a variety of control systems, and you can easily send IR signals from the TV location back to cable boxes, DVD players, and other source equipment at the head end. The IR connections feature active circuitry that support a wide variety of IR and control system types.
Easy Firmware Upgrades
You never know what new TV or BluRay player is going to throw you a curve ball. Upgradable firmware gives our software team the ability to update the system to handle any “gotchas.” Just flip the switch on the RS-232 port and upgrade on-site.
Built-In ESD and Surge Protection
Intelligent circuit design, perfected through extensive hardware testing, has resulted in a robust product with excellent ESD and surge protection that exceeds CE Level 3 standards. During development, every connection was tortured with an ESD gun and a lightning simulator. They were hit with ESD at 15KV and surges up to 2500V. More importantly, though, they each lived to tell about it!
Engineered by SnapAV
Under the hood of this extender is an engineer’s paradise! Its surface-mount, high speed circuits (up to 10.2 Gbps) are built on a multi-layer board to give you the highest-quality audio and video transmission, plus plenty of control capabilities. “Engineered by SnapAV” – it’s not just a saying, it’s what we do.
